Ways to Get the Kids Involved!
We love our young animal rescuers and want to encourage them to get involved at an early age!
Join our Junior Volunteer Program!
This program tailors to kids between the ages of 5-10 years old. We host Junior Volunteer Days about once a month here at the Rescue!
Host a Party Through Share Your Wish!
"Share Your Wish helps parents teach children the virtues of generosity and selflessness, while facilitating a more efficient gift exchange that benefits both gift giver and gift receiver. We empower kids and equip parents to simultaneously reduce excessive and frivolous gift giving, support a healthier planet, promote social responsibility, and practice good values while rewarding kids with better personalized gifts. We are proud to be a mission-driven social enterprise committed to supporting the needs of parents, of children, of those who have, of those in need of help, and of the world we share."
Host a Lemonade Stand or Bake Sale!
A great way for kids to learn the importance of giving! These can be done at home, at school or even at the Rescue (set this up with our Rescue Manager below).
Make Rice Socks for the Orphaned Pets!
Here is an easy Do It Yourself project for your pets that can be made with items in every household! If you are looking for a way to keep your dog or cat warm, a rice sock is a quick, easy, and inexpensive solution. Follow these easy steps:
Uncooked rice (make sure it is not instant rice)
Clean, soft socks in adult sizes – crew or tube
Then, make your heating pad:
Fill the sock about halfway with uncooked rice.
Tie the remainder of the sock with a knot.
You’re done – that was so quick, you can make some more!
Host a Donation Drive!
Gathering donations and much needed supplies is a great way to help the orphaned pets of Paws Crossed! Ask your local supermarket, pet store, or even your school if you can host a donation drive! We will be happy to provide you with information on Paws Crossed to display including our wish list of items needed!
